The metal Legal marks of the assay office According to the Legal Regime of Goldsmithing and Assay Offices (RJOC), approved by Law No. 98/2015 of August 18, as amended, articles containing precious metals (platinum, gold, palladium, and silver) must be assayed and marked by an Assay Office, with the exception of platinum or gold articles weighing 0.5 g or less and silver articles weighing 2 g or less. An article is legally marked when it bears the responsibility mark, the manufacturer's mark or equivalent, and the assay office mark, accompanied by the fineness mark when the latter does not include the fineness. All our articles containing precious metal subject to mandatory marking are duly marked, in accordance with the Legal Marks Table of the Portuguese Assay Office. In case of doubt about the authenticity of the marks, the buyer may resort to the services of the Assay Offices for verification.
