SINTRA WELCOMES THE 3RD EDITION OF THE EXHIBITION INTRADITION “HALF A CENTURY WITH A FUTURE”

The exhibition INTRADITION will run from October 4th until the 31st in the gallery Vila Alda, Casa do Elétrico (Trolley Car Barn) in Sintra Monday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Entry is free. This initiative is under the curatorship of Professor Ana Cristina Sousa of the Faculty of Letters in Porto, an academic whose work on Portuguese Jewelry Making is widely recognized and with the support of Câmara Municipal de Sintra (Sintra Town Hall). The organizer of the event is Arneiro 1969.

The exhibition, under the name “Half a Century With A Future,” intends to not only display jewelry for visitors, but to get them to see it from another view, inside and out, providing knowledge of the traditional processes of jewelry making in silver and gold over the last centuries. The exhibition seeks in this way to instill in the eye and the mind of the viewer the notion of rhythm and time, the long process of the execution of a piece using centuries-old techniques which impart not only an aesthetic character to the piece, but also a cultural charge and a symbolic quality.
